86-acre Wexford farm guiding at €15k/acre for April auction
Lots 1 and 2 of the five lots of the 86-acre farm in Wexford.
Coming up for public auction on Wednesday, April 8, is an 86-acre holding in Wexford near the village of Rathnure.
The property is at Garraun Upper and is presented in five lots, all in close proximity to one another, 2km from Rathnure and 500m off the R731. It is 12km from Enniscorthy and 30km from Wexford town.
“The property is exceptionally well positioned for regional and national travel,” says selling agent David Quinn of Gorey-based Quinn Property, “with the N30 providing a direct link to Enniscorthy, connecting with the M11 motorway with access northbound to Dublin, southwards to Wexford and westwards to New Ross.”

Each lot has excellent road frontage and, according to the selling agents, provides some hope value for planning permission to build a dwelling at some point.
The agricultural free-draining land is mainly in tillage, with a small portion given over to grass. Its Clonroche Series-type soil is highly regarded for its productivity, the selling agents say, and is suitable for a wide range of agricultural uses.
The lots are presented as follows:
- Lot 1 (22.3acres);
- Lot 2 (31 acres);
- Lot 3 (11.4 acres);
- Lot 4 (16.4 acres);
- Lot 5 (5 acres including sheds and outbuildings).
The farmyard buildings include a four-bay roofed shed divided into 36 cubicles and loose area, with a concrete floor, two open silage pits, a four-bay round roof shed, two lean-to structures, a four-bay lean-to building, a dungstead, concrete feed troughs, a holding yard/cattle crush, an enclosed store and two more ancillary outbuildings.

“The location of this farm strikes an ideal balance,” adds David, “between tranquil countryside living and excellent accessibility to major road networks, regional centres and national routes.”
This is an attractive holding with good access points and is easily managed despite its various lots. It’s in an area renowned for soil quality and with a healthy mixture of tillage farming and dairying.
It will attract a wide range of clients, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see it sold to one owner on the day. Guiding €15,000/acre.
