Spring lambs hit with further cuts while hogget prices also slide
Some processors are more tight-lipped on quoting prices forward for this week as they assess their exact requirements and the settling of the markets.
Some of the shine has been wiped off lamb prices at the factories, with further cuts applied across the board denting returns to producers.
Suppliers are reporting "it is a much tougher trade at the factories this week," with tightening of the latitude on cut-off weight limits, in addition to the price cuts, adding to the woes of producers.
