The 50-acre stud farm for auction in Porterstown, Ratoath, Co Meath, is in an area of prim lands.

Coming up for public auction on Thursday, June 12, at Dunboyne Castle in Co Meath is an exceptional 50-acre farm located near Ratoath.

The property is at Porterstown, in an area of prime lands in the royal county, convenient to Dublin and its extensive road network with the M3 just 3km away, Ratoath 4km to the north, and Dublin City Centre 20km to the south-east.

According to selling agents Coonan Property — with offices in Maynooth, Celbridge, and Naas — this is a high-quality stud farm of multiple attractions adjacent to both Tattersalls and Fairyhouse racecourses.

“It’s an exceptional farm,” says Will Coonan. “It comprises a well-maintained yard, comprehensive equine facilities, an aircraft hangar with solar panels, and multiple sheds.

The current owner has farmed it and he has trained a number of horses on it, so it’s now time to move on

"It’s in a nice location, it’s good land, and in a part of the world where there would be plenty of activity in both livestock and bloodstock," says Mr Coonan.

The property consists of prime grassland that is laid out in eight main divisions. The lands are stud-rail fenced and have a good road network throughout, allowing ease of management.

The boundaries feature mature hedgerows and there are three separate entrance points; one featuring electric gates.

“There’s a well laid-out yard,” says Will.

“It comprises the insulated hangar which measures 465sq m (5,000sq ft) with office space. There are also farm buildings, including a slatted shed, dry bedding shed and a two-bay hay shed with a lean-to and cattle shed.”

The property’s extensive equine amenities include 11 stables, as well as a tack room, a toilet, a four-furlong sand gallop track, a six-bay horse walker, and a lunging ring.
