While top-quality cows continue to be in demand at up to 500c/kg for U's, prices being quoted this week for R-grade have slipped back to 460-470c/kg.

Beef prices have come under pressure at the factories this week as the processors dig in to reduce their quotes for most of the categories as the supply continues to increase week-on-week with a further 1,000 head added to the supply.

After a long run of buoyant trade the cow prices have been reduced by up to 10c/kg while both steer and heifer have come back by around 5c/kg.
