For most, the countryside looks magical when Jack Frost is out in full force, but it makes farming a nightmare.
Our whole day every day last week was spent thawing pipes, ensuring everything had water and getting the automatic calf feeder working again. Our milking parlour was partially frozen every day this week, which added at least an extra hour to morning milkings.
