This day week at Lawlor’s Hotel in Naas, the auction of a 27-acre parcel of land near Kill, Co. Kildare, should attract a good deal of attention as land rarely comes up in this part of the world.
That’s according to the selling agent Paddy Jordan of Newbridge-based Jordan Auctioneers.
The property is in the townland of Fodeens, just 4km to the southeast of the village of Kill, 10km from Naas and only 20 minutes from Dublin city centre.
This part of the country will be familiar to anyone arriving into Dublin via the M7/N7, which runs to the north of these lands.
“The land is in two divisions,” says Paddy, “with superb mature hedgerows and natural timber. A stream runs along the northern boundary, providing a natural water supply.”
The compact holding is in grass at the moment but it would lend itself to a wide range of purposes, according to the selling agent.
There are over 300 metres of road frontage and, given its location, the possibility of the next owner obtaining planning permission for the construction of a home wouldn’t be out of the question.
The “smashing piece of land”, as the agents describe it, will be going under the hammer at 3pm next Thursday, October 26, with a guide price of €16,000 per acre.
