The forest fire risk was updated to Condition Orange last weekend, and Agriculture Minister Michael Creed issued a strong warning to landowners not to carry out any illegal burning of land.

The second-highest level of fire risk was projected to peak last Saturday, particularly in southern regions, and associated with illegal burning of upland vegetation. Mr Creed said it was more important than ever not to start illegal fires in the countryside, during the Covid-19 emergency.
