East Cork holding seeks €8-€10,000/acre
With a location very close to the sea in east Cork, a good quality 26-acre farm holding for sale with Cork-based auctioneers Cohalan Dowling cuts an attractive presence for those looking to extend their farm holdings.
The property is located in the townland of Ballycroneen — just 14km from the market town of Midleton and 7km from the famous village of Cloyne.
The latter village is famous for its round tower and is strongly associated with prominent hurling players Christy Ring, Donal Óg Cusack and Diarmuid O’Sullivan.
This part of the country is well known for a number of different aspects that all play a part on the social and economic structure of east Cork. “The land is in one block and is in permanent grassland,” says Maurice. “Interest has been good as well with most of it locally based.”
As regards the price, the agents are expecting a value of between €8,000 and €10,000 per acre for this piece of grassland. Compared to what similar properties have achieved in the local area, it’s on the lower side. The value of this farm is tempered, however, by the fact that it doesn’t have road frontage.
