Benjamin Cottrell, a recent graduate of the Food and Agribusiness Management programme from the UCD School of Agriculture & Food Science, has been awarded the Hussey Prize in Agribusiness.

Benjamin is from Ballyhooleen, Ballinhassig, Co Cork.

This award was established on the retirement of the late Mr F P Hussey, BAgrSc, in appreciation of his years of service to UCD (1926-1961).

The Hussey Prize in Agribusiness is awarded annually to the Food and Agribusiness Management student who obtains the highest aggregate grades in the modules International Food Marketing and Food and Agribusiness Strategy in the Stage Four University Examination in Agricultural Science.

Meanwhile, Linda Graham, has won the Patrick Dempsey Memorial Prize. Linda is a final year Horticulture, Landscape and Sportsturf Management student at the UCD School of Agriculture & Food Science.

Linda is from Alondra Ring, Clonakilty, Co Cork.

The Patrick Dempsey Memorial Prize is provided by the family of the late Mr Dempsey who lectured in the Department of Horticulture from 1970 until his untimely death in 1985.

The prize is awarded annually to the student who obtains the highest grade in the module Landscape Trees and Shrubs and who also reaches a sufficiently high standard in the Stage Three University Examination in Agricultural Science.
