Crookstown farm with real prospects

With a price tag of over €22,000 per acre, an 11-acre holding for sale with DTZ Sherry Fitzgerald adjacent to the village of Crookstown might, on first analysis, appear to be aiming high.

But, as Cork-based selling agent Séamus Costello points out, this property has land value that goes beyond the agricultural range, affording the next owners some interesting options.

A currently active planning permission (until April 2019) for 27 houses at the northern end of the property means that part of these quality lands may be devoted to development at some future point — a real prospect in the current climate of rapid recovery.

The land is west of Cork city — just off the N22 between Ballincollig and Macroom and only a couple of kilometres from Béal na Bláth.

“It’s prime quality land,” says Séamus, pointing out that the holding is “laid out in grass in three divisions, with the public road bounding it on one side and the river forming the boundary on the other side.”
