Shares gains advice seminars for farmers

Farmers who have made substantial gains in their Irish food stocks and shares will be advised on how to proceed at three seminars later this month.

Experts from FDC Financial Services and Merrion Stockbrokers will advise on prospects for food company stocks, and whether shareholders should take profits or hold onto their stocks.

At seminars in Kilkenny, Dungarvan and Tralee, other advice topics will be the importance of having a balanced portfolio, the impact of risk, tax implications of disposing or holding food stocks that have risen in value, and overall financial planning.

The seminars are on Monday. October 19, at the Rhu Glen Hotel, Slieverue, Co Waterford; Tuesday.

October 20 at the Park Hotel, Dungarvan, Co Waterford; and Wednesday. October 21, at Ballygarry House Hotel, Tralee, Co Kerry (all 8-9.30pm).
