Roundwood central to future forestry success

The mobilisation of roundwood is key to developing the Irish forest industry, said Agriculture Minister of State Tom Hayes.

Addressing the ‘Talking Timber’ event in Tullow, Co Carlow, he praised Teagasc’s efforts to provide forest owners with a chance to access information about selling their timber.

It was the first in a series of Teagasc talks on the timber sales process, harvesting options and the way in which timber value can be maximised.
