109 acres in Riverstick can be bought in lots
The 109-acre residential holding may be sold as one unit, or in three separate lots of 57.2acres, 45.2 acres and 5.7 acres (with outbuildings and an old dwelling).
Typically, properties such as this tend to get sold in lots, but there’s no indication yet what the market will prefer.
“There should be farmers in the area that would be strong enough to take on the whole lot,” says selling agent, Ernest Forde, “because, potentially, there would be dairy farmers going right into Cork City who would have had difficulty finding land nearer to them.”
Unsurprisingly, there have been “numerous calls” enquiring about the block of land, which is a 15-minute commute from Cork City and would, say the agents, be suitable for any farm enterprise. It is entirely in pasture and the lands are divided by a minor road, giving excellent access.
The outbuildings consist of a three-bay, round- roof-covered silage pit with lean-to, a three-bay round-roof loose shed, enclosed concrete yard with cattle-crush, old cow barn and an old derelict dwelling.
There are no entitlements with the property, which consists of good land that has been worked under lease over the last decade or so, with a good water and electricity supply. Offers are sought in excess of €12,000/acre.
