On a frosty night, Cork County Council treats 1,200km of road, using 14 large salting trucks, and motorways are treated by the National Roads Authority.

Council trucks are dispatched from Ballincollig, Skibbereen, Macroom, Dunmanway, and Millstreet, to treat priority one and priority two routes (based on road classification, traffic volume, public transport usage, and importance).
