Dairy slump ends three OK years for Irish farming

It sums up Irish farming that dairy farmers are the only ones that can be reasonably confident of making a profit in 2015 — even if, as predicted, a 28% milk price cut (to 27 cent per litre) reduces their profitability by a whopping 82% in 2015, to an average of 2 cent per litre.

A further decline in fuel prices is forecast in 2015, with electricity prices remaining stable.
