IFA chief threatens action over ‘intolerable’ cattle price gap

Irish Farmers Association president Eddie Downey warned yesterday that action will be taken unless beef prices rise in line with market returns.

He did not specify the nature of the action.

He said a massive, unprecedented and intolerable cattle price gap has opened up between Irish cattle prices and those in Ireland’s main export market in Britain.
