Ploughing one of top searches

Google’s list of the top 130 most popular search terms for Irish users on the internet in 2013 includes only one agriculture-related item, National Ploughing Championships.

It was the eight most “googled” event (after Oxegen, Electric Picnic, Longitude, Glastonbury, Flightfest, the Rose of Tralee, and the Cork Jazz Festival.

This year’s results show the Irish were either searching for the latest updates on big events — or trying to be responsible citizens, to judge from the popularity of “property tax” as a search term.
