Cell counter is a big hit

Milk producers, plagued with high somatic cell counts, were very impressed by the DeLaval DCC somatic cell counter, an award-winning reliable somatic cell counter for mastitis diagnostics.

DeLaval’s Stafford McElrea said: “Early detection results increased curing rates, quicker recovery, minimal milk losses and reduces the spread of mastitis — the most costly disease in dairy herds.”

This lightweight portable instrument from DeLaval can be used anywhere and the result is on display just 45 seconds later.

Since DeLaval launched the DeLaval cell counter it has won awards in Britain, France, Germany and other countries.

Meanwhile, attendance at RUAS was significantly increased on 2011. Large numbers of farmers, agri advisers and trade personnel from all over Ireland visited the event.

Visitors came from Scotland and as far south as Cork and Wexford. There was considerable interest in the award-winning VMS (voluntary milking system). Several farmers in Northern Ireland and thousands worldwide have already installed this innovative milking system (numerous awards include ‘Machine of the Year 2010 at Agrotech).

There were also a lot of enquiries from visitors about the DeLaval range of dairy hygiene products and other equipment, such as the DeLaval Farm Monitoring Camera FMC60, Harmony lightweight clusters, Alpro management system etc.
