Cork Federation recently organised 40 lucky members to avail of the opportunity to visit the European Commission Representation in Dublin, to learn more about the EU.

They stopped in Portlaoise for coffee (or breakfast for late risers).

In Dublin, they learned about how the EU came to be formed and has evolved, and the processes involved in making European laws. This was followed by a question and answer session. The visitors sent away with EU diaries for 2012.

Next stop was shopping in Grafton Street for some, while others set off to the National Gallery to see the Turner Exhibition.

A few other ladies visited their local TD, and got tours of Leinster House.
