Strong interest in land fit for any number of agricultural purposes

This fine block of land in a central Co Waterford location could be suitable for any number of agricultural purposes, says selling agent David Shee, of Shee and Hawe.

Strong interest in land fit for any number of agricultural purposes

He is taking the 28 hectares (71 acres) block of land to auction on March 7, and says there has been strong interest: “We’ve had well over 10 enquiries already, and it should do well. It’s all in one block, is just off the N25, and is excellent land,” he says.

“The vendors have told me that the lands were formerly part of Ballynabanogue Stud, a very good stud farm which would have been home to Crash Course, Little Buskins and Normandy amongst others.” While the pasture land may be suitable for drystock and dairying, it is also close to some recognised horse breeding operations.

The farm at Ballinabanogue, Ballylaneen, is midway between Dungarvan and Waterford city, and near Ballylaneen village. The property is off the road linking the village to Kilmacthomas, and is level for the most part, but drops and plateaus out towards the Mahon River.

Road frontage is excellent, and there is little waste, which is why the agent expects to make in excess of €10,000 per acre.
