Some processors add 5 cent/kg to prices for factory lambs, strong mart trade

MOVEMENT in lamb prices at the factories is limited this week, but at least positive for farmers, with a marginal improvement in prices on offer at some plants.

The trend in quoted prices ranges from stable to stronger by up to 5 cent/kg. In the marts, there was also a sharper tone to the trade at Monday’s sales.

Factory prices range from an all-in 450 cent/kg at Moyvalley Meats to 440 cent/kg plus quality bonus at the other processors, with prices at the Dawn and ICM plants increased by 5 cent/kg compared to last week.
