Farm on the borderline

A FARM at Curragh More, Mitchelstown is a new market entrant with John Paul Sheehan of Lisney, who’s selling the 29-acre holding on the border between Cork and Tipperary by auction next month.

Farm on the borderline

Eight miles from the busy town, and close to Ballyporeen, (famous as the birthplace of the ancestors of Ronald Reagan), the holding is described as level, and of very good quality.

The property is in two blocks, divided by a public road.

The land is serviced, says Sheehan, and very well drained.

There's no residence or outbuildings, so it will certainly suit an adjoining or neighbouring farmer with a need for extra grazing or silage ground.

The reserve is reasonable, considering the quality of the land.

John Paul Sheehan has set €200,000 as his mark, the equivalent of €7,000 per acre.

The property is due for auction on May 19 at the Firgrove Hotel, Mitchelstown.

It would also suit tillage farmers, says the agent, because most of the farm is in three large divisions.
