IFA says up to 420 cents/kg attainable

VERY little movement in lamb prices over the past week, but at least any shift has been upwards, although scarce and slow.

The best has been an increase of 6 cents/kg (2p/lb) at a minority of the factories to bring the top price to 406 cents/kg (145p/lb), while other have maintained quoted prices at last week’s level of a base of 400 cents/kg (143p/lb). On Monday, Kepak at Hacketstown was at the upper end of the quotes, offering 406 cents/kg, with the usual 5 cents/kg bonus for quality.

ICM Camolin and Navan and Kildare were all offering a base of 400 cents/kg. For Tuesday, there was no change in the quotes, but the ICM plants was not in the market for lambs Tuesday.
