Every tonne could be worth €200

FINE weather for the weekend will keep grain growers busy harvesting valuable grain crops which may be worth over €200 per tonne.

IFA National Grain Committee Chairman Colum McDonnell has warned them not to sell for less than €200 per tonne for wheat and €185 for green wheat and barley.

If these prices were not forthcoming, growers should retain ownership and do a deal on drying and storage, said Mr McDonnell.
