Riverside farmhouse is steeped in history
The farm is at Slaght, with access to the Owbeg River, with a traditional-style two storey farm house, and some outbuildings.
The house is in good enough shape to accommodate summer guests in a tourism business: tourists have already used it to ‘experience’ a traditional Irish rural atmosphere, says estate agent Tom Spillane.
He guides the sale at €450,000, a little under €10,000 an acre, and says there are a number of newly constructed farm sheds adjacent to the farmhouse.
The river frontage is along the eastern boundary, and the Kilgarvan area is steeped in scenery, archaeology and folklore.
According to Mr Spillane, “The property is in a lovely, quiet rural location, with scenic views which makes it ideal for the fishing enthusiast.”
