THE Irish Farmers Association (IFA) is putting Ireland's beef industry and the livelihoods of cattle producers at risk, the Irish Meat Association (IMA) has claimed.

IMA chief executive John Smith said an escalation in an ongoing IFA campaign at meat factories was misguided and irresponsible.

Mr Smith said the IMA was concerned and disappointed that, despite appeals from meat processors and the Minister for Agriculture, the IFA had escalated its action at meat factories.
