Milk price to stay stable until new year

The decision by Lakeland to hold its November milk price has been welcomed by IFA National Dairy Committee chairman Michael Murphy.

Last month, both Town of Monaghan and Arrabawn co-ops had announced they would hold their prices until the end of the year at least.

It appears milk prices will remain stable into the new year.

“World commodity prices are continuing to rise, with supplies from traders outside of the EU remaining very scarce.

“Of course, it will be important for the EU Commission to be open-minded about export refund increases to respond to the weaker dollar if and when necessary,” Mr Murphy said.
