Farm sale pitched on rezoning hope
With their boards only just up at the entrance, Sherry FitzGerald Brennan Busteed already have an offer of €2 million for this prime residential holding.
Near Bandon Co-op on the Bandon to Crossbarry road, the farm is in one block, with an excellent farmhouse, says David Busteed. The yard has old and new buildings, including a two-storey, stone-built loft.
The main house was recently renovated and extended to the rear. It is surrounded by mature trees and has a long driveway from the road, making it very private and peaceful, Mr Busteed says.
Selling this top quality farmland in lots won’t be an option, he says.
As it stands, the land doesn’t have zoning, but sits on the development boundary, which means it has “hope value.” Expansion of the town could see these green fields paved over sooner rather than later.
Don Brennan and David Busteed are selling by private treaty, and looking for offers in excess of €2 million, and they may take the property to auction at a later date.
