Students taking part in Teagasc agricultural college open days over the coming weeks can look forward to guided tours of the teaching and recreational facilities and visits to the colleges’ modern farming and horticultural enterprises.

The Careers Day at Kildalton College tomorrow, Friday has been cancelled as a mark of respect to the late Pope John Paul II, and rescheduled to Friday, April 22.

But Careers Days go ahead today, April 7 at the College of Horticulture, National Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin, Dublin; April 13 at Pallaskenry College, Co Limerick; April 14 at Ballyhaise College, Co Cavan; and April 20 at Warrenstown College, Co Meath.

Students will also be updated on the radical changes of recent years in agriculture and horticulture courses, which are now all nationally accredited, with the opening to go on to university degree level from 11 courses.
