IAWS in merger talks with SWS

THE Irish Agricultural Wholesale Society yesterday announced that it has entered into discussions with the SWS Group with a view to merging key components of their respective businesses.

SWS, based in Bandon, Co Cork, is considered a strategic business fit with the IAWS and its future development plans.

The IAWS Co-op Society, which holds a 17.48% stake in the IAWS Group, said the merger is subject to due diligence and the agreement of a business plan.
