I LOOK fondly upon those days where I used to scour the papers for a mere mention of my beloved Chelsea. Most of the time I wouldn’t find anything of course; we were nobodies — not newsworthy in any way.

MOST giants, it seems, survived last weekend unscathed (with one notable exception — although that was more of a case of Goliath slaying Goliath).

FOLLOWING our last couple of games, I am in a rather schizophrenic mood — I swing from being this pessimistic surrender monkey wishing (grudgingly) to congratulate my colleague Mr Kurt on his team’s winning of the league title, to this Braveheart character ready to take on United and anyone else in a fight to the death.

I THINK if anyone told Paul Jewell that lightning doesn’t strike the same place twice, they should stand well back or face the prospect of a fat lip.

I HAVE to say that come 6pm on Sunday I was very disappointed indeed. I should have expected it — after all the hype, it was always going to be a draw.

I’VE HAD to listen to a lot of bitching from United fans about the fact that Chelsea didn’t have to play this week and how unfair it all was as we’ve had a rest.

AS you read this I will be preparing to make my second trip to the northwest in four days — cheers FA — thus further expanding my already extensive knowledge of the M6. And Bolton comes at the end of seven days which started with a hop over to Bremen.

WEST HAM came to Chelsea determined to play football — which they did, very commendable, no bus parking in this game. It did them no good mind ... no shots on target tells its own story.

EVEN when all those professional pundits were waxing lyrical at the start of the season about Liverpool, and their title winning credentials, José said that our main threat would come from United and Arsenal; looks like he was right (again).
