Sheva’s yellow card made Blues see red

WERE all you non-Chelsea fans sitting comfortably in your armchairs last Wednesday night, smugly awaiting a battering from the “mighty” Barca?

Tough for battle-scarred Blues to keep things in Cech
ONLY Stephen Hunt will know whether his “challenge” on Cech was a deliberate attempt to make his presence felt early on in the match or an accident.

Chelsea bashing alive and kicking in Spain

HOLA from Spain! I thought I would take advantage of the international week to get away from the torrential rain and constant Chelsea-bashing for a few days.

Fulham felled by Frank in full flow
WHEN I arrived at Craven Cottage on Saturday I was already feeling a bit queasy thanks to a dodgy burger I’d had in the pub earlier in the day — my queasiness was mixed with outrage as said burger had cost five pounds!!!

Goodbye Gallas and don’t forget your dirty linen
NEVER a dull moment is there? Last Monday I had filed my copy only a couple of hours before all hell broke loose when Chelsea released their explosive statement that Gallas had threatened to score an own goal, get sent off, or play badly to try and force the club’s hand over his contractual bickering.

Time to out Lamps - to be frank
MIDDLESBROUGH was a nightmare. Long journey in the driving rain, an absolutely awful performance, heavy-handed policing, we lose, then a long journey home again? I’ve had better nights.

Job well done — just don’t mention Gallas
I LOVE the first game of the season — it’s like the first day back at school. Everyone with their new clothes, sporting holiday tans, excited about the new season — some forever optimistic, some forever pessimistic (me).

Patchy curtain raiser an expensive outing
SO THAT’S the season curtain-raiser out of the way — and what did we learn? A number of things, I think. Firstly that our “global brand” jaunt to the United States wasted precious training time, which has left us at least a week, if not two weeks, behind teams like Liverpool in terms of fitness. And boy did it show!

Gallas swap is a bad bit of business for us

“You were working as a waitress in a cocktail bar, when I met you; I picked you out, I shook you up and turned you around, turned you into someone new”

José drops a clanger with team selection

SO WHERE do I start? I am gutted. Even more disappointed than after the Champions League game, because I really wanted the FA Cup, and my desire to see us beat Liverpool was even greater.
