How to defuse the Brexit/Grexit problem?
John A Murphy is not quite correct in his letter (Irish Examiner, June 26) about Thomas Kent.
For the fourth year in a row, the Medical Council is attempting to increase the annual registration fee for doctors in Ireland. This latest increase will mean that doctors will have to pay €605 per annum — up 23% since 2012.

This time of year the county councils in Ireland elect their new mayors. For one year sadly, the ordinary citizens are not allowed to vote for the first citizen as this is a closed shop, as only county councillors are let vote. This is cronyism and undemocratic.
