Do footballers really need a media manager?

It’s Sunday evening. I’m listening to RTÉ’s Marty Morrissy on the radio interviewing a member of the victorious Westmeath team.

Marty: “I know you are anxious to get back to your team mates in the dressing room so thank you and thanks to your media manager for bringing you up here.”

“Well” I thought “wouldn’t that make a great question for the local GAA club’s next table quiz? A real tie-breaker.”
