Greek citizens have every right to decide their fate
One has to feel sorry for the man, unaffected as he is by the scope of austerity and pension cuts.
M Juncker, like the rest of EU politicians, is an instrument of the real power in Europe, namely Germany. It was interesting to note that a newspaper reported that if the Greeks accepted the latest bailout terms that these terms would then be debated in the Greek parliament and put to the Bundestag.
That in itself surely tells us something about who really is pulling the strings in the European ‘experiment’, as they call it.
One has to wonder why the EU has such bloated and expensive layers of bureaucracy in Brussels/ Strasbourg, when the Bundestag really shapes policy.
Imagine actually letting the Greek people decide their fate in the EU by holding a referendum. What a novel idea! Let the people decide!
As for M Juncker, he should remember the lessons of history when only some 70 years ago an infamous Austrian dictator accused the German people of betraying him just because he was about to face final defeat in WWII.
Just like M Juncker it was not his fault but that of the ordinary people. Hubris M Juncker, hubris.
