Creative’s Pebble Nova desktop speakers deliver a cosmic blend of premium sound, clever design, and eye-catching aesthetics. With 100W peak output, coaxial drivers, Bluetooth 5.3, USB-C connectivity and refined RGB lighting, they combine impressive performance with a sleek, modern design perfect for work, gaming or everyday listening.

The Pebble Nova looks futuristic, almost like something you’d expect to find aboard a spaceship rather than on a desk. The spherical design and subtle RGB lighting give them a premium aesthetic with a modern stylistic twist.

They’re solidly built with a matte finish, and my white review variant has stunning gold accents. Creative includes a pair of small stands in the box, allowing you to raise or angle the speakers if needed, but the built-in 45-degree tilt already directs sound beautifully towards your ears. That small touch makes a big difference, especially when compared with flat-facing desktop speakers.

The Pebble Nova is as versatile as they are stylish. You get a simple plug-and-play setup via USB-C for PC and Mac, plus Bluetooth 5.3 if you’d rather stream wirelessly from a phone or tablet. There’s also a 3.5 mm AUX input, which means they’ll happily handle almost any device you throw at them.

The top panel has dimples with soft-touch controls that feel more like tapping than pressing. I’d have preferred slightly more tactile feedback, but they work reliably once you get used to them.

A neat addition is the coloured light ring that changes based on input mode: solid blue for Bluetooth, purple for USB, and green for AUX. It’s functional, yet tastefully executed. Power is supplied via the included 65 W USB-C PD adapter, so there’s no need for clunky external bricks.

Creative’s companion app unlocks the true potential of these speakers, offering fine-tuned controls for bass, treble and surround effects, plus clever features like smart volume, virtual surround-sound and dialogue enhancement for clearer speech. I used the iOS Creative app while the speakers were connected to my Mac, but its functionality is limited to EQ and RGB adjustments. The Creative macOS app doesn’t support the Pebble Nova, and only the PC version provides access to the full spectrum of features. I also tested the speakers with a Nintendo Switch 2, ROG Ally X and a PC using the USB-C and 3.5mm connections, all of which worked flawlessly.

There’s a USB-C cable connecting the left and right speakers, and you can swap their orientation in the app. However, the cable is only a metre long, which might limit your placement options. I also had four cables coming out of the back of the control speaker, which is a little unwieldy. These included a 3.5mm AUX, a USB-C for power, another USB-C for connecting to the Mac, and the USB-C link between the left and right speakers. For the tidiest setup, Bluetooth is best, but for optimal sound quality, USB-C delivers the superior experience.

Sound quality

The Pebble Nova features a coaxial driver design, combining a 3-inch woofer with a 1-inch tweeter in each unit, producing a wonderfully cohesive sound. The clarity across the frequency range is exceptional, especially for such compact speakers.

Coaxial driver systems are usually reserved for high-end speakers like the KEF LSX II or Edifier S2000MKIII, known for their precise and balanced sound. By integrating this advanced design into the Pebble Nova, Creative delivers premium, cohesive audio and a touch of luxury, all without the high-end price tag.

Listening to classical and acoustic tracks, the mid-range and treble were crisp and open, while the bass remained tight and controlled. There’s no subwoofer here, but I honestly didn’t miss it. The passive radiators facing out the back do a superb job of adding warmth and punch without muddying the detail.

Gaming performance was equally impressive. Explosions and environmental effects had a real impact, but what stood out most was the positional precision; you can tell exactly where in-game sounds are coming from, which adds to the immersion.

Even at higher volumes, the Pebble Nova remains remarkably clean and distortion-free. Whether connected via USB for the best fidelity or over Bluetooth for convenience, they consistently deliver balanced, room-filling sound.

Everyday use

After several weeks on my desk, I’ve grown fond of these little spheres. They fit neatly on either side of my monitor and look fantastic lit up in soft lighting during evening listening sessions.

Creative has struck a smart balance here by offering high-end performance without the need for a separate subwoofer. For anyone who wants quality sound in a compact, good-looking package, these are an absolute treat.

Verdict

The Creative Pebble Nova is a desktop speaker that looks as good as it sounds. For anyone who wants quality sound in a compact, good-looking package, these are an absolute treat.
