The market for premium headphones with noise cancellation and long battery life is crowded with big-name brands. However, the OneOdio Focus A5 Pro aims to challenge the giants by offering AI-based adaptive noise cancellation, LDAC audio support, and an impressive 75-hour battery life at a more accessible price. After spending time with these headphones, I found plenty to like, but there are a few areas where they might fall short for more discerning users.

The Focus A5 Pro ear cups are well-padded, and the adjustable headband ensures a snug fit without feeling too tight during long listening sessions. At 290g, they’re not the lightest, but the weight is evenly distributed, making them comfortable for extended use.
The build quality feels solid, and the design gives it a premium feel. However, mostly plastic parts may not be to everyone’s taste, and they lack the same refined touch you’d find in more expensive competitors like Sony or Bose.

The Focus A5 feature an AI-based adaptive noise cancellation, which adjusts in real-time based on your environment. In my testing, this worked impressively well in busy settings like cafes and public transport. The headphones quickly adapted to background chatter and engine noise, reducing distractions to a comfortable hum.
However, in quieter settings, the ANC struggled to eliminate low-frequency sounds. While the Hybrid ANC system (using both internal and external microphones) is effective, it doesn’t quite match the performance of premium noise-cancelling headphones from more established brands.

The transparency mode is a welcome addition, letting you hear ambient sounds without removing the headphones. The sound isn’t as natural as class-leading Apple headsets, but it’s handy when walking through busy streets or having brief conversations. Switching between ANC and transparency mode is seamless, with a simple button press.

It’s good to see the Focus A5 has LDAC support, which can deliver high-resolution audio that’s a significant step up from standard Bluetooth codecs. Pairing the headphones with a compatible device, I noticed richer details, especially in the mid and high ranges. Vocals were clear, and instruments had excellent separation.
The 40mm drivers deliver a thumping bass, detailed mids, and crisp highs. The headphones have tons of power for bass lovers, but I found it overpowered the rest of the mix. Since there’s no app support, I used the built-in equaliser in my music app to lower the bass by -6dB. However, the sound signature changes when you turn off ANC, and the bass isn’t as overpowering.
If you’re using standard Bluetooth codecs like SBC or AAC, the difference in audio quality won’t be as noticeable. To truly appreciate the LDAC capabilities, you’ll need a device that supports it — something to keep in mind if you’re using older smartphones or laptops.

Battery life is a major selling point for the Focus A5 Pro. With 75 hours of playback (ANC off) or 45 hours with ANC on, these headphones will last several days on a single charge. This makes them perfect for long commutes, work sessions, or travel.
The fast-charging feature is another bonus. In just five minutes of charging, you get an additional five hours of playback — ideal if you’re in a rush.
During my time with the Focus A5 Pro, I only needed to charge them once a week with moderate use. This longevity is a massive plus for anyone who hates the hassle of frequent charging.

For gamers, the low-latency gaming mode is a nice touch. Enabling this mode reduces audio lag, ensuring better sound synchronisation during gameplay. I tested this feature while playing mobile games and noticed a definite improvement, particularly in fast-paced action scenes.
The Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity is stable, with a reliable range. Pairing with my smartphone and laptop was quick and hassle-free. The headphones also support multi-point connectivity, letting you switch between two devices seamlessly. Unfortunately, there’s no wired connection apart from the USB-C port for charging.
The OneOdio Focus A5 Pro headphones are an excellent choice for those who want premium features like adaptive ANC, LDAC support, and long battery life without paying a premium price. They’re ideal for commuters, gamers, and casual listeners who want excellent sound quality and reliable noise cancellation.
While they might not match the polish of more expensive models, they offer exceptional value for money. If you’re looking for all-day comfort, versatile performance, and a budget-friendly price, the Focus A5 Pro is well worth considering.
