Samsung unveils Galaxy Z Fold6, Z Flip6, and Galaxy Buds3 Series at Galaxy Unpacked event in Paris

Today, at the Galaxy Unpacked event in Paris, Samsung showcased its latest innovations: the Galaxy Z Fold6, Galaxy Z Flip6, and the Galaxy Buds3 series. Many people have been excited to see what updates are coming to Samsung's foldable handset range, but the biggest buzz from the South Korean firm has been its AI integration.

Underpinning all of this is also our commitment to bring the best to our customers, so we’re pleased to also provide seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates.”
The firm said the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 are built on Samsung’s history of form factor innovation, bringing new dimensions to mobile AI. The Fold6, with its expansive screen, is designed for productivity and multitasking. It offers a range of AI-powered features and tools that maximise the large display, significantly enhancing the user experience.
Note Assist, for instance, provides translation, summaries, and auto-formatting for meeting notes, while the Composer feature generates suggested text based on simple keywords for emails and social media posts.
One of the standout features of the Galaxy Z Fold6 is its new dual rail hinge structure, which improves durability and ensures a smoother folding experience. The strengthened folding edge distributes the shock of external impacts more effectively, providing greater peace of mind for users. The enhanced layers on the main screen reduce the crease while maintaining strength, making this the most durable Galaxy Z series yet.
On the other hand, the Galaxy Z Flip6 focuses on portability and customisation. Its 3.4-inch Super AMOLED FlexWindow has been enhanced to offer more AI-assisted functions without needing to open the device. This is particularly useful for quick interactions and on-the-go communications. The FlexWindow allows users to reply to texts with suggested replies, check notifications, and manage their music without unfolding the device.
Samsung emphasised its integration of AI into the Galaxy Z. The new devices leverage AI to enhance various aspects of the user experience, from productivity to creativity. For example, the Note Assist on the Fold6 transcribes and translates voice recordings directly into notes and supports text in images and graphs, making it a powerful tool for professionals.

Instant Slow-mo, another innovative feature, generates additional frames to maintain a smooth viewing experience even when slowing down videos, making it perfect for capturing every detail.
While smaller, the Galaxy Z Flip6 does not skimp on AI capabilities. The device’s FlexCam offers a versatile camera experience, with features like Auto Zoom, which automatically finds the best framing for shots by detecting the subject and adjusting the zoom accordingly.
The new 50MP Wide and 12MP Ultra-wide sensors should be a nice upgrade for those coming from a previous model.
Samsung has focused heavily on durability with the new Galaxy Z series. The Fold6 and Flip6 have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform. This chipset combines best-in-class CPU, GPU, and NPU performance, optimised for AI processing and enhanced graphics. The Fold6 features a larger vapour chamber for cooling, allowing extended gaming sessions without performance drops, while the Flip6 introduces a vapour chamber for the first time.
Alongside the new foldable phones, Samsung also introduced the Galaxy Buds3 and Buds3 Pro. These earbuds are designed to bring a new sound quality and communication level through innovative AI capabilities. The Buds3 Pro, in particular, boasts advanced hardware and software features catering to casual listeners and audiophiles.
The Buds3 Pro comes with Adaptive Noise Cancellation (ANC) technology. This feature uses AI to analyse internal and external sounds in real-time, adjusting the noise cancellation levels for optimal audio performance.
The Galaxy Buds3 series also enhances communication with features like Interpreter in Listening mode, which translates foreign language lectures directly through the earbuds. Samsung says this is a game-changer for students and professionals attending international conferences or meetings. The Voice Command feature allows users to control the earbuds with simple voice prompts, adding a layer of convenience to their use.
The Galaxy Z Fold6, Z Flip6, and Galaxy Buds3 series will be available for pre-order starting today, July 10, and will be available starting July 24.
