Global technology firm Honour launched several devices today at Mobile World Congress 2024, with a strong focus on what they are saying is an all-scenario strategy aimed at revolutionising user experiences with artificial intelligence. 2024 will be remembered as the year AI came of age on mobile, and Honor is committed to enhancing their devices with the latest innovations. The company's CEO, George Zhao, took the stage to introduce a suite of smart devices, including the Honor Magic6 Pro flagship smartphone and the AI-powered Honor MagicBook Pro 16 laptop, both designed to be AI-centric. Mr Zhao said their eco-system, which seamlessly connects Honor devices, was as good if not better than Apple’s - a big claim.

The highlight of Honor's presentation was the unveiling of the Honor Magic6 Pro, the latest addition to its Magic Series lineup, boasting cutting-edge advancements in photography, display technology, and performance. The device is powered by MagicOS 8.0 on top of the Android 14 operating system and infused with Honor's platform-level AI, which introduces innovative features such as the industry's first intent-based user interface.
Honor says the Magic6 Pro integrates AI-driven capabilities that enhance every aspect of the smartphone experience. From intuitive navigation to personalised recommendations, the device anticipates users' needs and adapts to their preferences in real-time. With Magic Capsule and Magic Portal functionalities, users can easily access essential resources and streamline complex tasks, transforming how they interact with their devices.
One of the areas I was most excited about was the Magic6 Pro's new camera system. Equipped with the latest Falcon Camera technology, Honor claims it has pro-grade photography performance that rivals dedicated digital cameras. They went on to say whether capturing fast-paced sports action or stunning landscapes.
Honor has also taken leaps in other areas of photography, using advanced AI-powered features like motion sensing capture and intelligent scene recognition.
Other exciting new camera features include a 180MP telephoto lens (f/2.6, OIS) with 2.5x optical and up to 100x digital zoom. The Magic6 Pro also features a 50MP ultrawide camera (f.2.0, EIS) and a 50MP main camera with auto-adjusting aperture (f/1.4 and f/2.0, OIS).

Honor partnered with industry leaders like Qualcomm to integrate advanced technologies into its devices. Qualcomm's LLaMA 2 large language model (LLM) inside the Magic6 Pro showcases the potential for on-device AI capabilities to enhance user experiences, from text creation to reading comprehension, even in offline environments.
Honor teased future possibilities for AI integration, including hands-free control of vehicles through the Magic6 Pro's AI-powered eye-tracking system. This experimental concept highlights the potential for AI-enhanced smartphones to redefine human-device interactions beyond traditional controls.
The Magic6 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform, delivering a 30% improvement in CPU performance and a 25% increase in GPU performance compared to previous models. Qualcomm's AI Engine ensures smooth and stable AI features, with a remarkable 98% improvement over previous models. Moreover, Honor stands out as the first brand to apply emerging battery innovations from other sectors to smartphones, introducing the all-new Honor Second-generation Silicon-carbon Battery with Honor E1, providing exceptional low-temperature performance and fast charging capabilities.

Honor also introduced the MagicBook Pro 16, a cutting-edge AI-powered laptop designed to offer users an intelligent all-scenario PC experience. The company said the device facilitates seamless cross-OS collaboration by leveraging the power of Honor's platform-level AI, enabling users to effortlessly share notifications and synchronise materials across Honor smartphones, PCs, and tablets.
With the MagicRing feature, convenience and accessibility are prioritised, making multitasking a breeze and ensuring users can easily access their digital world.

In its commitment to delivering exceptional user experiences across all devices, Honor unveils the Honor Pad 9, a sleek and feature-packed tablet designed to elevate the all-scenario experience to new heights. Boasting a stunning 12.1-inch 2.5K Honor FullView Display with a 120Hz refresh rate, the Pad 9 offers users an immersive visual experience like never before. Complemented by an eight-speaker audio system featuring Honor Histen sound tuning technology, this tablet delivers rich and immersive audio quality, enhancing the overall user experience. With its distinctive design and impressive feature set, the Honor Pad 9 promises to be a standout device in the tablet market.
