Sony announce range of products ahead of world's biggest electronics trade show
Sony have launched a new phone ahead of the world's leading consumer electronics and home appliances trade show today.
At a press conference today, Sony unveiled the Xperia 5 which packs key features of the Xperia 1 launched in April.
Xperia 5 also supports HDR (high dynamic range) and combines a 21:9*2 aspect ratio with a 6.1-inch Full HD+ (2,520 x 1,080 pixels) OLED display.
The new model’s slim, 68mm wide design makes it highly portable and easy to use, while still featuring a 21:9 CinemaWide experience in a compact body that is 14 grams lighter than Xperia 1.
Xperia 5’s triple camera is equipped with 12 MP image sensors and optical image stabilisation (OIS). Furthermore, the camera features Eye AF (Auto Focus) which uses algorithms from Sony’s interchangeable lens cameras to enable it to identify and keep focus on a human eye.
Additionally, users can freely switch between the 26mm (F1.6) versatile lens, 52mm (F2.4) telescopic lens, and 16mm (F2.4) super-wide lens (35mm conversion), for even more creative photographic opportunities.
Borrowing from Sony Bravia TV technology, the “X1 for mobile,” can convert SDR (Standard Dynamic Range) content into HDR (High Dynamic Range) equivalent picture quality using HDR Remastering technologies which gives more contrast, color, and clarity.
Additionally, improved “Game enhancer” boasts expanded recording features, as well as allowing users to enjoy immersive 21:9*2 and optimized gaming experiences.
It will be launched in various countries and regions from this autumn.
Sony has announced the latest addition to its Signature Series with the SA-Z1 near field powered speaker system.
It allows for easy installation with a user's personal or headphone audio setup.
Sony today introduced its WI-1000XM2 headphones which cleverly prevents, catches and cancels ambient sound.
The stable fitting structure with an angled earphone design helps prevent ambient noise from entering the ear while the Dual Noise Sensor technology catches any noise.
Sony’s HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN1 then cancels the sound, resulting in an improved noise suppression level.
Despite their compact size, the neckband buds include a HD Hybrid Driver System which contains a 9mm dynamic driver and Balanced Armature driver which Sony claim will create stunning and wide range frequencies by reproducing clear sound from deep bass to delicate high tones.
The built-in Digital Sound Enhancement Engine HX (DSEE HX) upscales compressed digital music files including MP3 formats, to bring you closer to the quality of High-Resolution Audio.
It also promises a battery life of up to 10 hours while 10 minutes of charging equips you with 80 minutes playtime.
It will be priced cost around €330 and be available from January.
Also announced today is Sony's new Walkman, NW-ZX507, enabling you to experience multi-source music with Android and Wi-Fi.
Sony claim users will be able to access songs in-device or via streaming and download services, without compromising on high-quality sound.
