Two Huawei employees have been demoted for using an iPhone to send a tweet.

They wished followers on the firm's official account a "Happy New Year" - but it came up that it was sent "via Twitter for iPhone".

According to Reuters, the Chinese telecoms company - which is a big rival of Apple - has punished the staff involved by demoting them and cutting their salaries.

In a memo, Huawei said the incident damaged their brand.
