Mr.Robot Showrunner Sam Esmail To Reboot Fritz Lang's Metropolis

Sam Esmail seems to be able to do no wrong lately. After his first TV series Mr.Robot became the most talked about new show last year, he decided to follow it up with a second season which he both wrote and directed.

Mr.Robot Showrunner Sam Esmail To Reboot Fritz Lang's Metropolis

Now it seems he wants to adapt one of the seminal works of film history into a TV show, Fritz Lang’s Metropolis.

Metropolis was a film which came out in 1927 set in an industrial dystopia and follows the lives of two people who represent the class struggle and how hard it is for those at the bottom to get ahead, while those at the top have it so easy.

It is easy to see while they think the film is still relevant to today's audiences however considering it is such a cornerstone of modern wifi, are they taking a big risk.

We don’t think so, reboots are big business and Sam Esmail can't seem to do anything wrong, so it must be quite a similar position HBO found themselves in with Westworld.

People will certainly tune in and watch the first episode, however keeping them watching proved the problem with Westworld.

The series is still only in very early stages, Esmail will return for at least two more seasons of Mr. Robot after which he will wrap the series and then begin to work on the show.

In other words we have to wait a while to see what he has in store for us.
