The Last Guardian has a new trailer from TGS 2016
This game has been in active development for longer than I've been writing about games, reaching a full decade by the time 2017 rolls around. That's a huge gulf of time for any industry but for something which moves as quickly as games it pretty much an eternity.
The 25th of October 2016 was said to be the final release date but the latest has pushed it to early December. We're going to go ahead and assume that it will actually happen this time, and bask in the weirdness of a new trailer from the Tokyo Game Show.
It all looks remarkably unchanged from the first glimpses back at E3 2009. That might be a good thing or a sign that it's indebted to a bygone age of gaming, particularly in the complexity of the graphics. That said, director Fumito Ueda likely doesn't care one jot about conventional game design from the evidence of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus.
Hopefully the game will finally release this time.
