Doom's campaign trailer is bloody brilliant

After eight years in development, Doom has finally gotten a release date. It will burst onto PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on May 13th.

There's also a visceral campaign trailer to go along with the release date announcement. The trailer is short on actual plot details, but who needs a plot when you get to tear demons to shreds?

The trailer shows off some of the melee finishers that players can use, as well as the frenetic pace that the game will whip along at. And then a Cyberdemon appears to ruin the Space Marine's day in the worst way possible. It looks like quite a departure from 2004's Doom 3, which was a slower paced scarefest.
