VIDEO: Go behind the scenes of Star Wars on Skellig Michael
It's a pretty amazing moment in the film, which makes the most of some remarkably untouched scenes from the island retreat which was first inhabited by monks almost 1500 years ago
. The ancient structures and stairway on the island have remained preserved and mostly untouched, and were the site of shooting for the massive Disney film in 2014.
A new video talks about the importance of the Irish location for the film, complete with comments from director JJ Abrams and more.
The video comes from Tourism Ireland and was certainly created as part of the agreement between the studio and the Irish government. It aims to increase tourist numbers to the islands and the surrounding areas in the months and years ahead.
And we're due another Star Wars boost in the future as well, with scenes from Episode VIII already completed and in the can for a summer 2017 release.
