Dragon's Lair movie flees to Indiegogo

Crowdfunding is a very strange game. It relies on goodwill and nostalgia to such a high degree that even the most potentially interesting projects can be scuppered by a weak start and then suffer through a very public fall far short of their goal.

That's no good for anyone, certainly not the owners of the campaign or the excited backers, so the news that Dragon's Lair the movie has nobly fled from Kickstarter isn't necessarily negative. The campaign launched on the 26th of October and was cancelled on the 24th of November with less than half of its $550,000 goal obtained. Happily for interested backers, the team have set up again at Indiegogo with a number of important changes.

The new page will offer faster better and stronger rewards (probably) but the biggest difference is the target - just $250,000. Now that's only ten grand more than they had already received on Kickstarter so it's well within reach, provided they can convert a decent number of the original backers.
