Amazon is resetting passwords

It's a busy time of the year for online shopping but Amazon has been forced to reset a number of passwords after a security concern was raised.
Amazon is resetting passwords

Many users received an email from Amazon stating that they: "recently discovered that your [Amazon] password may have been improperly stored on your device or transmitted to Amazon in a way that could potentially expose it to a third party."

No further explanation was given, but the emails assured users that no information had been obtained by a third part, according to a report on ZDNet. It's likely that the company experienced some kind of data breach and is taking steps to ensure no users have been compromised.

The only potential issue now is people searching for Christmas bargains and finding they have a full kart but can't access the checkout because their password has to be reset. So make sure to log in straight away when you visit the site. And don't spend too much!
