VIDEO Jetpack flies by the Statue of Liberty

It's 2015 and the future is finally here with the arrival of actual jetpacks that pretty much work. We can't wait to commute in one of these!
VIDEO Jetpack flies by the Statue of Liberty

It's 2015, that's literally the future in Back to the Future and a good decade and a half since 2001, so where's all the fancy tech? The holograms, flying cars, subservient robot slave army? It's the future and all we got was ten thousand smartphones.

At least some people aren't content to just spend more time playing with touchscreens. They're reaching for new technology that will actually make our lives easier and help us look cool while doing pretty much anything. Yes obviously we're talking about jetpacks!

Here's a flight around the Statue of Liberty which might just be the way we commute very soon.

The Personal Jetpack is Here!

This is perhaps obviously a promo for Jetpack Aviation, which wants to make commerically available personal propulsion systems. They've been working on this idea for 25 years and it looks like its been worth the wait - the JB-9 should be able to reach heights of 10,000 feet, and speeds of 100 mph for around 10 minutes. Which sounds just dandy to us.

This is actually happening - more info here.
