Tailtalk clues pet owners into their dog's emotions
The device itself is a Fitbit-like wearable thatâs placed on your dogâs tail to analyse its every movement and reveal your dogâs emotion. Its video explains that the direction a dog wags its tail indicates its mood.
An app is linked to the device, so you can get updates on the fly. It even works if youâre not in the vicinity of your dog. It showcases how your dog is feeling on an easily understood graph, while thereâs also a dashboard showing a dogâs âhappiness overviewâ, âemotional graphâ and âemotional diary.â
Tailtalkâs promo video gives the example of the app alerting the owner when the dog walker takes custody of her pet, but we wouldnât be so quick to ring while theyâre still out with our dog.
Apparently, dogs donât mind this being attached to their tails. Chief operation officer Mike Karp revealed, âWe have spent a lot of time testing that and finding that most dogs think about it for about 30 seconds before moving on.â
A crowdfunding campaign is currently underway on Indiegogo seeking $100,000. It has raised just over $30,000 already with Tailtalk wearables available for $99.
