Robert Knepper is in new Twin Peaks
The 90s TV show is coming back for a limited series in 2016 at some point, with Lynch back at the helm along with the original writer Mark Frost and familiar types like the composer Angelo Badalamenti. As of right now, the only confirmed talent to be returning in front of the camera is Kyle MacLachlan's Dale Cooper, but now we know at least one other actor is in the mix.
Deadline reports that actor Robert Knepper will have a recurring part in the new show. He's noted for being a character actor in shows like Heroes but is probably still best known for appearing in 75 episodes of Prison Break as T-Bag. He's been on the big screen as well in The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1, 2007s Hitman and Good Night, and Good Luck.
There's no word yet on who he will be playing in Twin Peaks, with next to nothing currently known about the story Lynch and Frost want to tell. It is said to be a continuation of the story set 20 years after the end of the original tale, which focussed on a murder investigation in a quiet town in Washington state. The creators have also promised that plenty of familar faces will return, and we'll find out more about that in due course.
Twin Peaks is currently shooting, with Lynch expected to shoot it all like one long movie and cut it up into multiple episodes afterwards. We still don't know how many episodes there will be - and neither does the Showtime network - nor do we have a release date. When we know, you will.
